Achieving more by doing less
The facilitator role and the techniques, learned in module 1 & 2, can also be used for larger groups. With some design adaptations, you will be able to create and facilitate larger scale group processes that can take from half a day to several days.
Two techniques that will be explored during this session are Open Space Technology (OST) and World Café (WC). Both techniques help participants to gain collective intelligence and engagement through creative processes.
Open Space technologie
The goal of an Open Space Technology (OST) meeting is to create time and space for participants to engage themselves into topics with a certain depth and creativity. Every participant can contribute to the result of the OST with his experience, knowledge and background. The method is very effective with big groups (10-1000 participants) and with questions that are complex and future-driven.
World Café
Developed by Juanita Brown and David Isaacs, the world café is a simple, yet powerful conversational process for fostering constructive dialogue, accessing collective intelligence, and creating innovative possibilities for action, particularly in groups that are larger than most traditional dialogue approaches are designed to accommodate.
